Study Levels: Master’s and PhD (doctoral-level study)
Eligible Applicants: International students, subject to the programme’s nationality, age, academic and field-specific rules.

About the France Eiffel Excellence Scholarship
The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Programme, managed by Campus France on behalf of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, is designed to help French higher-education institutions attract outstanding international students to selected Master’s and doctoral programmes. It is a competitive award, and meeting the basic conditions does not guarantee selection.
What does the scholarship cover?
Benefits depend on the study level and the official rules for the relevant call. The programme can include a monthly allowance and support for services such as international and domestic transport, insurance, cultural activities and assistance with finding accommodation. The commonly advertised monthly allowance for the 2027 call should be checked against the current official call documents before applying; amounts may differ between Master’s and PhD recipients.
Please note: The Eiffel programme does not necessarily pay university tuition fees. Applicants should ask their chosen institution about tuition, registration costs, housing availability and any expenses not covered by the award. Do not assume that airfare and accommodation costs will be paid in full in every case.
Who can apply?
- International candidates applying to eligible Master’s or doctoral-level programmes in France.
- Candidates who meet the current call’s age limits, academic requirements and other eligibility conditions.
- Candidates applying in an eligible field and through a French institution participating in the process.
Eligibility is not automatically guaranteed to every nationality or applicant. Check the official rules for the 2027 call and confirm that your chosen course and institution participate.
How to apply for the 2027 Eiffel Scholarship
- Identify French universities and programmes that match your academic background and career goals.
- Contact the university’s international office or scholarship team as early as possible and ask whether it will nominate candidates for the 2027 Eiffel call.
- Follow that institution’s internal deadline and document checklist. Institutions—not individual students—submit nominations to Campus France under the Eiffel process.
- Prepare the documents requested by the institution, which may include academic transcripts, certificates, a CV, a statement of purpose, identification and evidence of language proficiency.
- Use only official university and Campus France guidance, and wait for the formal selection process.
Deadline and important reminder
January 8, 2027 is the stated closing date for the institutional submission stage of the 2027 call. Since each university may close its own candidate-selection process earlier, contact institutions immediately rather than waiting until January.
Official information
Always verify the current call, stipend amounts, age rules, eligible fields and benefits on the official pages before making plans. Be cautious of anyone demanding payment in exchange for a guaranteed scholarship or selection.
