Brief Job Description

A reputable microfinance bank is seeking a proactive, disciplined, and result-oriented Credit Recovery Officer to manage overdue loan accounts, follow up on outstanding repayments, and ensure effective loan recovery. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging customers, negotiating repayment arrangements, and helping the bank maintain a healthy loan portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow up with customers on overdue loans and outstanding repayments.
• Implement effective debt recovery and collection strategies.
• Contact customers through phone calls, messages, and physical visits where necessary.
• Negotiate reasonable repayment plans with defaulting customers.
• Monitor loan repayment schedules and maintain accurate recovery records.
• Identify potential loan default risks and escalate cases appropriately.
• Prepare daily and weekly recovery performance reports.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers while ensuring repayment commitments are met.
• Work towards achieving assigned recovery targets.

Requirements

• HND or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Previous experience in credit recovery, debt collection, or loan recovery, preferably in a microfinance bank.
• Good understanding of loan recovery procedures and credit management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities.
• Ability to work with targets and under pressure.
• Honest, disciplined, proactive, and result-driven.

Salary: ₦150,000 – ₦250,000 monthly, depending on experience and competence.
