Treasury Officer: Bank Reconciliation
Job Overview:
As a Bank Reconciliation Officer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions by reconciling bank statements with the company’s financial records. You will play a crucial role in identifying and resolving discrepancies, maintaining financial accuracy, and providing timely reports to support decision-making processes. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform daily, monthly, and quarterly reconciliations of bank statements, ensuring alignment with the company’s financial records.
* Investigate and resolve discrepancies between the bank statement and general ledger entries.
* Review and verify all financial transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
* Identify and rectify errors in a timely manner, collaborating with relevant departments when necessary.
* Maintain organized and up-to-date records of financial transactions, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
* Archive reconciled statements and reports for future reference and audit purposes.
* Prepare and present detailed reconciliation reports to management on a regular basis.
* Communicate financial discrepancies and issues to relevant stakeholders and work towards prompt resolution.
* Ensure compliance with accounting principles, policies, and regulations.
* Keep abreast of changes in accounting standards and banking regulations that may impact reconciliation processes.
* Collaborate with other departments, including finance, treasury, and auditing, to obtain necessary information and support for reconciliations.
* Work closely with the finance team to address any outstanding issues and improve overall financial accuracy.
* Identify opportunities for process improvement in the reconciliation and financial reporting processes.
• Implement best practices to streamline reconciliation procedures and enhance efficiency.
* Analyze and resolve complex reconciliation issues promptly and accurately.
* Propose and implement solutions to prevent future discrepancies.
Requirements:
* Previous working experience in Treasury department
* Minimum 2 years relevant experience preferably with a background in high-volume transactions.
* Degree in Finance or related degree
* Time management and prioritizing skills, so you never miss a deadline.
* Ability to work unsupervised and with other staff members in various locations.
* High level of attention to detail.
