Job Title: Accountant

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team at a reputable clearing and forwarding company located at Isolo Way, Lagos. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Duties:
1. Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
2. Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
3. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including tax laws and financial reporting requirements.
4. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management.
5. Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
6. Provide financial guidance and support to management and other departments.
7. Manage and supervise junior accounting staff.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
2. Professional certification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, ICAN).
3. At least 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a clearing and forwarding company.
4. Strong knowledge of financial accounting, taxation, and financial reporting.
5. Proficient in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, SAP).
6. Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
